A base right in the heart of the Lakes

The YHA Hawkshead has been a hostel for over 80 years after being purchased from the Brocklebank family in 1942. Overlooking Esthwaite Water, the hostel dates back to 1821 and was lived in by the author, Francis Brett Young for 3 years (until he decided the weather was too wet for him). YHA Hawkshead also offers the biggest choice of glamping, with a village of pods, cabins and tipis in the grounds.

Accommodation at YHA Hawkshead is free for the first 25 teams to enter and we’ll organise all of that for you. There are also cabins that can be hired at an additional charge, but you’ll need to arrange those directly with the YHA Centre on +44 345 371 9321 or by email hawkshead@yha.org.uk

Whether you stay here or not, dinner, breakfast and a light lunch for all competitors is included, along with some of the best views in The Lakes.
